Eligibility & Duration of Occupancy:
Summer housing is provided for matriculated college students taking summer classes on the Kingston campus OR for students who work for the university more than 20 hrs/week at the Kingston or Narragansett Bay campuses during the summer months.  Student housing accommodations are available to support students’ academic endeavors while they are attending classes or engaged in internships.  As such, Summer School students who are not involved in internship experiences or employed by URI during the month of August must leave their on-campus summer housing assignment upon completion of Summer Session 2.  All remaining residents must leave their summer room assignment by Transfer Day, which is Friday, August 22nd.  Students who are approved to remain in Summer Housing through Transfer Day and who live in the residence halls during the academic year will be able to move into their academic year room assignment at this time.

Application Information:
Summer Housing Applications are available in both 107 Roger Williams Commons and in 014 Adams Hall on the Kingston campus.  Applications are also available online at www.housing.uri.edu.  They can be returned in person to either location, faxed to 401-874-7438 or emailed as an attachment to summerhs@etal.uri.edu.

Summer Housing applications for Senior Week and Summer Session 1 are DUE in the Summer Housing Office by APRIL 28th .  All applications submitted after April 28th will be assigned on a space available basis.  Room assignments and check-in information will be available at our website, www.housing.uri.edu, one week prior to check-in.

Billing & Payment information:
Students are billed for the session(s) they have indicated on their application form.  Housing fees are included on your Summer School bill.  Students who are enrolled in summer school must make payments on their summer housing bill at the Bursar's Office in Enrollment Services.  This office is located on the 2nd floor of Green Hall.  Their office hours are 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday.  Payment for housing is to be made when paying your summer school bill.  Residents are billed for the entire summer session for which they have applied at the rate stipulated on the Summer Housing application.

Residents who are not registered for summer school credits will receive a bill upon checking in.  These payments must be made in the HRL Business Office located in 108 Roger Williams Commons.  They are open weekdays between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM and can be reached at 874-2743.

Some students have their housing paid through grants and/or the department for which they are employed.  The Summer Housing Office bills these departments directly.  Students who have this arrangement with their respective employers must have their names submitted on a list by their employer to the Summer Housing Office prior to housing being assigned.

Building Usage:  ALL APARTMENTS AND ROOMS ARE FURNISHED.
Traditional Summer School Students will enjoy residing in the newly constructed apartments of Garrahy and Wiley Halls located on Flag Rd. in the North Woods neighborhood.  These are Air Conditioned facility comprised of 4 & 5 bedroom apartments.  All room assignments are singles and apartments are co-ed.  The apartments have private kitchens and bathrooms in them.  All beds in Garrahy and Wiley Halls are Extra Long FULL/DOUBLE beds.  Be sure to bring the proper size bed linens!  If you are unable to find extra long full sheet sets, we recommend you use either queen sheets or full size sheets made from jersey cotton.  Garrahy Hall will only be open for Summer Session 1.  Students who are enrolled in classes during Summer Session 1 will be assigned to that building.  Wiley Hall will be open for Summer Session 1 & 2, and will house students who are enrolled in classes during both summer sessions.
